NORDET IN DOUARNENEZ

Rising from the waters, Douarnenez was born, according to legend, from the town of Ys, the city of King Gradlon, which was swallowed up in the bay by the cunning of Dahut. Its greatest wealth comes from fishing when Douarnenez became a Mecca for sardines in the 19th century. Old houses, churches, workshops and small fishermen's houses remain from these epic events. In the past, the rhythm of the trawlers and canneries, the quays with their colourful facades are today dotted with cafés and restaurants where it is good to stroll to warm up.

Where to sleep?
In the Tréboul district, in the Pierre & Vacances premium residence Le Coteau et la Mer**** which opens onto the Atlantic Ocean with an unobstructed view of Douarnenez Bay.  The marine atmosphere extends to the interior of the flats and their blue tones, for a relaxing effect.
